Vasco da Gama reaches an agreement with midfielder Payet

Vasco da Gama agreed to hire a great reinforcement for the 2023 season. It is attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet, formerly of Olympique Marseille. The Frenchman is the tenth reinforcement signed by Gigante da Colina in this transfer window that arrives to reinforce the squad of coach Ramón Díaz.

Born in Saint-Pierre, Payet began his professional career with Nantes. In the 2007/08 season, he arrived at Saint-Étienne. From there, he went to Lille in 2011, where he stayed until 2013, when he arrived at Olympique de Marseille, where he became an idol and was the player with the most assists in Europe in his second season for the club.

In 2015, he was sold to West Ham, where he stayed for two seasons and participated in the French team’s campaign at Euro 2016, appearing in the selection of the tournament, until he returned to Olympique de Marseille. In this second spell at Olympique, he played until the end of the season and ended his cycle there with 326 games, 78 goals and 95 assists.
